Q: Who can Invest in ECF?
Both individuals and corporate entities can invest in ECF.
For indivudual: You must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid ID or passport.
For Coorporate: Only applicable to Limited Liability Partnership (LLP), Private Limited company (Sdn Bhd) and Limited Company (Bhd).
As part of the standard verification procedure to manage risks and ensure compliance, your profile must meet all the Know Your Customer (KYC), and other compliance requirements before you start to invest.
Q: I am not a Malaysian. Can I invest?
Yes, you may. However, please make sure that you have complied with the regulations in your country before you access and/or invest in any ECF campaign.
Q: Which investor category/ types do I fall under?
Under the SC’s Guidelines, there are three (3) categories of Investors which are allowed to participate and invest in the Issuer:
(a) Sophisticated Investors
(b) Angel Investors
(c) Retail investors

Q: How much I can invest?
It depends on the needs of each campaign and it is subject to the category of Investor you are qualified under as follows:
Type of Investor | Investment Limits |
Sophisticated Investors | No restrictions on investment amount |
Angel Investors | A maximum of RM500,000 within a twelve (12) month period |
Retail Investors | A maximum of RM10,000 per Issuer with a total amount of not more than RM50,000 within a twelve (12) month period |
