PPP Agricare Sdn Bhd is positioned to become a green agrotechnology enterprise that builds high-yield, high quality and pollution-free green agri-tech enterprises, and it is expected to be listed within 6 years.

About the Founder

My name is Clinton Chai, and I am aged 60. I have been in the agricultural field for almost 50 years. I am also an Honorary Doctor of Agricultural Management and am currently the President of the Agricultural Protection and Development Association of Malaysia (APDAM). 

 

I was the son of an agricultural family, and at the age of 11, I followed my family to help on the rubber and oil palm plantations. Since then, I have frequently been involved with the agricultural industry. When I was in secondary school, a 30-40-year-old agriculturalist passed away due to cancer, and it was found that this was due to the frequent use of toxic pesticides. Therefore, this has strengthened my determination to contribute to the agricultural field.

 

Over the years, through the promotion of less chemical fertilizer, multi-organic cultivation culture, reducing environmental pollution, and education on soil hardening and plant diseases, I have devoted myself to various research and development in agriculture. I have spent 7 years researching 'Ganoderma Disease', the cancer killer of palm oil trees. I have visited more than 20 farmyards in order to find effective solutions for the agricultural industry.

In 2009, I established the PPP Agricare brand where PPP (in Chinese means treasure) stands for sunlight, air and water. Humanity and healthy crops can't survive without these three resources.

 

About the Business Start-ups

The agricultural industry is essential for the Malaysian economy, accounting for 7.2%* of the gross domestic product (GDP) and 7.9% of total exports. In Chinese, there is a sentence which describes ‘Food comes first for the people and Healthy food is the Priority.’ A healthy body comes from healthy agricultural products, healthy agricultural products come from healthy soil, and healthy soil requires healthy fertilizers. As humans depend on food to survive, the company’s mission is to ensure the safety of agricultural products, which will also assist in the country's development.

For 20 years, I have experienced continuous innovation in Malaysian agriculture development, and I am one of the witnesses of organic fertilizer from being unrecognized to the agricultural trend. Our company is growing bigger and stronger; we have developed our company from only 2 people in a team to a professional team consisting of 30 professionals. Furthermore, our company starts by working remotely at home, and until now, we own an office, a warehouse and two factories.

In addition to integrating the development of pollution-free agricultural products, from research, development, production, wholesale and sales of pollution-free fertilizers, we also provide consulting services for pollution-free agricultural practices, management processes for pollution-free planting methods, and organize pollution-free agricultural education courses.

We can make full use of animals, plants and food industry waste to adopt modern advanced technology to turn organic waste into resources, profit, and wealth. Besides, it will  turn it into an environmentally friendly, high-quality, pollution-free and high-efficiency series of fertilizer products.

Development potential

According to our research, the current crops not only have many diseases and limited yields, and also increase the cost of planting. The most worrying issue is that the abuse of chemical fertilizers and pesticides continues to happen, affecting soil and ecological environment to be polluted and destroyed. The production of unsafe and unhealthy agricultural products will directly endanger people's health.

In view of this, we decided to choose Accelerated Biodegradation technology. This technology can turn organic waste into high-efficiency organic fertilizer within 3 to 7 days, creating agricultural products with high profit products. Compared with traditional composting fermentation, rapid fermentation technology is convenient and fast, with a simple operation process, pollution-free, low cost, high yield and high quality.

In our country's crop market, the main fertilizer market, such as fruit and palm oil,is almost 289 billion. If the fertilizer market such as vegetables, home gardening, flower gardens and herbs are included, it will be a huge and unpredictable potential market. We believe this technology will increase the company's fertilizer production by more than 10 times and increase the company's profit to 100%. In addition to the local market, we also plan to expand overseas markets in the future, such as China, Indonesia and other Asian countries.

At the same time, we will expand our online sales team, establish a potassium sulfate fertilizer manufacturer, research and develop "organic environmental protection energy" equipment technology, build at least 8 specialty stores for agricultural materials services, and achieve our goal within 5 years.

20 years of operating experience has allowed us to establish close ties with many industry partners. In order to achieve future goals, we decided to raise funds through the MyStartr crowdfunding platform. The target amount is 3 million ringgit, and the use of funds will be divided into

  • 45% for the new plant upgrade system (Expected completion within 9 months)
  • 30% for the working capital (Expected completion within 9 months)
  • 15% for the cost of human resources (Expected completion within 6 months)
  • 10% to build a professional team (Expected completion within a month)
