About the Founder
Sam Tew, the co-founder and CEO of NCTech is an innovator and entrepreneur who has 15 years of experience in business leadership. He also possesses extensive knowledge in areas relating to business formation, operation, finance, and management.
Aside from being a skilled entrepreneur, Sam is also a visionary product developer who’s well-versed in research and analytics as well as an effective communicator and motivator who identifies and leverages valuable assets in the team in order to reach and achieve organizational goals.

The Story of NCTech
Eating is undoubtedly a big part of Malaysian culture and one that we are all proud of. One distinguished example of this is the Mamak stalls, where it’s famed for serving well-loved favourites such as sirap bandung and teh o limau ais.
However, did you know that the making of these beverages involves a lot of manpower and wastage? Let us break it down into two main parts:
1. Restaurant Owners
Given Malaysia’s sweltering heat all year round, it’s no wonder that locals prefer to sip on an ice-cool drink to beat the heat. As such, it’s vital that eateries have an ample supply of ice to make sure that chilled beverages can be served at all times.
To do so, it requires a large amount of packeted ice cubes to be transported to eateries. Unfortunately, restaurant owners often face two problems: lack of manpower and wastage.
First, with the Covid-19 pandemic having wreaked havoc on the F&B industry for the past two years where many foreign workers have returned to their home countries, it has left restaurant owners scrambling to hire new workers who are willing to work long hours, let alone transport packeted ice cubes.
Second, if the packeted ice cubes have been delivered to the eateries but aren’t fully utilised, it will eventually melt and turn into liquid, rendering it useless for future use. This wastage will also lead to increased spending as restaurant owners will need to repurchase new batches of packeted ice cubes.
2. Customers
Malaysians aren’t known to be a patient lot, especially when it involves food orders. As mentioned above, the pandemic has created a vacuum in the workforce among eateries across the nation, where restaurant owners are forced to fork out more money in hiring and training new workers.
In the midst of doing so, it also leads to slower service and long waiting times, where frustrated customers may get up and leave after waiting for their orders that seem to take too much time to be fulfilled or attended to.
Recognising the need to address and resolve these issues, NCTech has come up with two devices that will benefit both restaurant owners and customers, namely the NC-BOT and ice-making machines.
What are its benefits? First, it helps to increase the level of service at restaurants, where meals can be served to customers with the help of the NC-BOTs when there are not enough human servers to attend to them, as well as ensuring there’s a constant supply of ice to make chilled beverages.
Second, while most eateries often have to invest a certain amount of money in order to increase efficiency by purchasing new equipment, this isn’t the case for both the NC-BOT and ice-making machines as they have close to zero investment.
Third, without having the need to invest more resources into elevating overall efficiency, restaurant owners can save on operating costs and focus on generating profits.
Potential to Develop
In line with its vision to expand its services across more premises in the F&B industry, here is NCTech’s roadmap for the next five years:
2023: NCTech aims to unveil NC-Bot and launch 2,000 units of its ice-making machine NC-Ice to the local market.
2024: NCTech will look to further expand its service team in order to handle the after-sale service more effectively. In the same year, another 2,000 units of the ice-making machine will be marketed as well.
2025: An estimated 4,000 units of the ice-making machine will be expected to be present in the market and NCTech aims to broaden its reach to other countries in Southeast Asia.
2026: For 2026, an estimated 8,000 units of the ice-making machine of will be placed in the market and NCTech will continue to further widen its business in neighbouring Southeast Asian countries.
2027: An additional 8,000 units of the ice-making machine will be placed in the market. This year will also mark NCTech’s preparation for getting an IPO listing in Bursa Malaysia.
Funding Goals, Utilisation & Time Frame
For this round of crowdfunding exercise, NCTech plans to raise a maximum of RM5 million. 47.5% of the funds will be used for purchasing robots and ice-making machines for a period of 12 months, 39.5% will be for operating costs for a period of 12 months, 10% for marketing funds for a period of 12 months, and the remaining 3% for outsourcing work such as installation and on-site technical support for a period of 12 months.

发展潜能
